The Department of Chemistry administratively consists of two laboratories; however there is a lot of collaboration and cross-over between the laboratories.

Research in the Department of Chemistry is focused on the following major topics covering the traditional sub-disciplines from inorganic and analytical chemistry to organic and physical chemistry:
