19.1.2012. NEW COURSES: Following courses provided by the Finnish University Network of Asian Studies can be included to the Intermeadiate Studies part of the Development Studies program:

1. Fieldwork Methods in Asian Studies (China, Japan, Indonesia) (4 ECTS)

2. Localising Theories (4 ECTS)

3.1.2012. Program Update: Development Studies program is updated for the spring 2012. See Studies-webpage.

 

1.1.2012. New book for MAKE0314, Readings on Methodology! The old book of Mikkelsen (Methods for development work and research. A guide for practitioners 2005) will be replaced in the fall 2012 with a book of Robert Chambers (2008): "Revolutions in Development Inquiry". It is possible to replace the old book of Mikkelsen already during the spring 2012, which is highly recommended. After the spring 2012 only the book of Chambers will remain in use.

 

Lecture diary opportunity:

Professor Fang Zhu, School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Fudan University, Shanghai gives a quest lecture "State-Society Relations in Today's China", which can be used as a part of the development  studies.
