Studying

The chair of Software Product Development provides two majors for Master’s degree students, one for M.Sc.Tech (DI) students and one for M.Sc. (FM) students:

  • M.Sc.Tech. degree major in Software Product Development (ohjelmistojen tuotteistamisen DI-pääaine)
  • M.Sc. degree major in Software Entrepreneurship (ohjelmistoyrittäjyyden FM-linja)

The exact contents of the majors are presented in the Study Guide 2007 - 2008 (pdf, mostly in Finnish). Up-to-date information about the courses can be found from the Course Calendar 2007 - 2008. Read more about the nature of the studies - Mitä tekevät ohjelmistojen tuotteistamisen diplomi-insinööri ja ohjelmistoyrittäjyyden maisteri? (currently only in Finnish).

How to apply for studies? Read more here (in Finnish), and more from the faculty website (in English, in Finnish).

In addition the chair participates in Southwest Finland Technology Entrepreneurship Programme (SOFTENP), in which all students of the Department of Information Technology can study a minor level subject for their degree studies.

We also run D.Sc. (Tech.) and Ph.D. programs in Software Product Development and Software Entrepreneurship. Contact Professor Markus Mäkelä for further information about doctoral studies and research.
