Software Product Development Research Group
The Chair of Software Product Development and the research group provides high quality education and research at the intersection of industrial management and software engineering. Our research is essentially focused on software business, and we thrive to be both academically top quality and highly relevant to the industry. Research also serves as an inspiration to our teaching; we provide M.Sc. degrees in Software Entrepreneurship and M.Sc. (Tech.) degrees in Software Product Development.
The Chair of Software Product Development and the Software Product Development Research Group is part of the Salo Unit of the Department of Information Technology at University of Turku. We belong to the Turku Centre for Computer Science that is a joint venture of the three universities in Turku.
The Chair of Software Product Development is conducted by Professor Markus Mäkelä (biography (pdf), publications). Tuomas Mäkilä, Project Manager of the Group (homepage), is responsible for the planning and management of several teaching- and research-related entities of the Group jointly with Professor Mäkelä.
