Seminars in Ecology and Evolution (SEE)

Seminars in Ecology and Evolution (SEE) is a seminar series designed to allow students and staff members to hear about research going on in the universities of Finland and occasionally other countries. Invited speakers present their own research and are available for discussions after their presentations.

Seminars are hosted jointly by University of Turku (Genetics and Ecology) and Åbo Akademi. If you have questions or wish to arrange a time to chat with the speakers, contact

  • niklas.wahlberg@utu.fi  (host: UTU Genetics),
  • veijo.jormalainen@utu.fi  (host: UTU Ecology),
  • outi.vesakoski@utu.fi  (host: UTU Ecology) or
  • sami.merilaita@abo.fi  (host: ÅA)

Seminars are every Tuesday at 15-16, unless otherwise indicated. Locations vary according to hosting division:

  • ÅA: Åbo Akademi, Auditorium Wikgren, ground floor, BioCity
  • UTU Ecology: Turku University, Ecology seminar room, LT1, 2nd floor
  • UTU Genetics: Turku University, Genetics seminar room (room 413), LT2, 4th floor
