Description
Research aim is to respond to the modern challenges set for the assay methods employed in the in vitro diagnostics and to support development of high performance, yet relatively simple, assay technology platform for next-generation diagnostics.
We have directed the research to label technologies and assay formats, especially to properties and utilization of luminescent lanthanide chelates, lanthanide chelate-dyed nanoparticles and inorganic lanthanide-doped nanocrystals in diagnostic methods, as well as, to potential of new advanced assay methods and designed molecular binders.
Extensive knowledge and theoretical modeling of performance potential of different technologies provide strong background for development of new methods. For example, inorganic lanthanide-doped upconverting phosphors and their anti-Stokes photoluminescence enables homogeneous assays to be performed also in sample matrices, where conventional fluorescence-based methods are not suitable.
